General Chair Corner

As a General Chair of RAMS 2022, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 68th Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium. RAMS® is sponsored by eight professional societies who have a passion for reliability, availability, maintainability, and/or safety (RAMS). RAMS® is completely managed and organized by volunteers from the sponsoring societies. These volunteers on the Management Committee will be working hard all year to produce a symposium that will provide a unique experience across the entire RAMS body of knowledge. Attendees have the opportunity to learn through tutorials, technical papers, expert panel discussions, keynote and banquet speakers, and interaction and networking with other professionals.

The Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST) specializes in accelerated test methods; laboratory facilities and instrumentation necessary for field measurements, product reliability growth, demonstration and durability testing. IEST supports the technology development related to environmental test controls and methodologies; environmental stress screening; Highly Accelerated Limit (Life) Testing (HALT/HASS); and is the owner of MIL-STD-810. It is one of the founding societies for RAMS with emphasis on all aspects of environmental testing for product evaluation. Find out more at http://www.iest.org/.

The Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS®) is one of the most comprehensive gatherings of R&M professionals held today. Attendance at the symposium is a unique opportunity for the System Safety Engineer to learn new and innovative ideas proposed by complimentary disciplines and how these ideas can be leveraged to enhance their own system safety efforts. The program is focused on the latest technical practices and procedures presented through technical papers and tutorials. Attendance at RAMS provides ISSS members the opportunity to learn new techniques, as well as new perspectives and networking/communication opportunities resulting in overall improvements to the design, production and operation of safer products.
